Welcome to the Knights of NottinghamTwice World Champions and the original British Medieval Jousting Display team est 1970.
Knights and Horses combine for hard hitting Medieval Jousting displays and tournaments throughout the UK and even worldwide. Our jousting shows are filled with sword swinging, gut punching thrills. Anything can happen and often does with fantastic audience participation and comedy included. Crowds may cheer for the White Knight or maybe boo at the Black Knight, either way they will certainly laugh along with our jovial friend sir Frederick as his merry antics entertain both children and adults alike! If you come along to one of our shows in and around Nottinghamshire you may even come across Robin Hood and his Merry Men as we make our way around this great country. Prepare to hear the thunder of hooves and the clashes of swords as the great Knights battle on the medieval field. |
Professional Jousting DisplaysOur show is a fully scripted theatrical performance perfected over our 50+ years of displays to a wide variety of audiences. With a mix of jaw dropping action, mind blowing skills and a touch of comedy you are sure to be entertained.
We are available for events, film and TV work, fair's, parades, private hire, medieval events, banquets, weddings or corporate hire. We are fully insured and have performed all over the world and welcome international enquiries. |
Our Jousting History
The Nottingham Jousting Association (now the Knights of Nottingham) came into being by accident. In 1970, the City of Nottingham held a large festival and because the city has always been closely connected to Robin Hood, it was decided that the festival should have a medieval theme.
The daily highlight all week was to be a jousting tournament. At this time, there were no professional jousting troops in England, and a group of stunt men were asked to arrange the jousting sequences. The jousting tournament at Nottingham caught the imagination of festival organisers throughout England, and Mr. Humphrey was approached to stage other jousting tournaments. And so, the Nottingham Jousting Association was formed.
